Description

Euphorbia susannae are small, succulent shrubs with beet -to-bulbous roots that branch only basally. The pressed spherical to cylindrical branches are flattened at the end faces and have a diameter of about 3 to 7 cm. There are two different growth forms: In some populationswhich also correspond to the original description, the plants branch underground. Here the branches, which are only about three centimeters thick, remain predominantly underground, so that only their ends are slightly elevated and look out of the ground in about one level. In other populations, however, the plants branch approximately at ground level and then make up to seven cm thick branches dense hollowed cushion of up to 30 cm in diameter. The 12 to 16 ribs of the plants are resolved into vertical to slightly spiraling warts. These warts are initially hairy and run, sometimes slightly bent outwards, pointed. Thread-like leaves about two to three mm long, quickly falling down, sit on the tips of the wares
