Description

Ipomoea capillacea is an erect or sometimes procumbent herb , often sufrous, perennial , with tuberose root . It may have a single stem or be branched at the base. The leaves are leaf blades palmatisectas , 0.5 to 2 cm long by 1 cm wide to 1.8, with 5 to 7 filiform segments, apex acute or truncated, truncated base. The inflorescences are unífloras, with unequal sepals , of 3 to 5 mm in length, the outer ones a little smaller, ovate, coriaceous, the interiors elliptical, membranáceos, smooth. The corolla is infundibuliform (funnel-shaped), 2 to 3.5 cm long, pinkish-purple to purplish-pale, tube lighter.
