Quimilo (Opuntia quimilo)
Description
Opuntia quimilo , is a fanerógama species belonging to the family Cactaceae . It is found in northern Argentina and widespread in Bolivia . Opuntia quimilo grows like a tree with many branches, with a clearly identifiable stem that reaches a height of up to 4 meters. The large elliptical to oblong sections are bright greenish-gray, up to 50 centimeters long, 25 centimeters wide and 2 to 3 centimeters thick. The areolas are large and distinctive, extending down the stiff column (sometimes two or three are present) are white, straight or crooked, and 7-15 cm long.
