Description
Mammillaria vetula is a species belonging to the family Cactaceae . It is endemic to Guanajuato , Hidalgo and Queretaro in Mexico . Its natural habitat is arid deserts . It has spread throughout the world as an ornamental plant . Mammillaria vetula grows in abundance and produces the formation of flat cushions. The stems are spherical or cylindrical gray-green and reach heights of up to 10 centimeters. The ribs do not contain latex, they are a little loose, boring and conical quadrilateral at the base. The armpits have a little wool or are bald. The 1 to 2 central thorns, which may also be absent, are straight, strong and sharp up to 10 millimeters long. There are initially 11 to 25 spines radial, straight, needle-shaped, thin and white and 3 to 10 millimeters long. The yellow lemon flowers are up to 17 millimeters long. The fruits are white to greenish and contain black seeds
