Description

Eriosyce curvispina is a species in the genus Eriosyce of the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet curvispina means (lat. Curvispinus) with curved spines'. Eriosyce curvispina grows usually solitary with almost spherical to spherical, rarely elongated shoots and reaches diameters of 8 to 20 centimeters. Her head is bald. The roots are usually fibrous, sometimes a short tap root is formed. There are 14 to 24 ribs that are deeply notched. The most upturned, thin to thick and peachy thorns are horn-colored with a darker tip. They dread with age. The four to eight middle spines are 2 to 3 centimeters, the ten to 15 spines 1 to 3 inches long. The broad funnel-shaped flowers appear from young areoles and often form a circle around the vertex.
