Description
Echinocereus schmollii is a botanical species of plants in the family of the Cactaceae . It is endemic to Querétaro in Mexico . It is a rare species in the collections.Echinocereus schmollii usually grows individually with a cylindrical stem, slightly blackish purple, reaching lengths of up to 25 cm. Its roots are thickened slightly. It has nine to ten rounded ribs that are tubercles and up to 35 spines as hairs that are more or less pink and give the shoots a woolly appearance. They are white or dark and up to 7 millimeters long. The flowers are funnel-shaped and are bright pink and appear near the tips of buds. They measure 3 to 5 centimeters long and reach a diameter of up to 6 centimeters. The fruit is oval to spherical, juicy and light purple green in color.
