Description
Echinocereus adustus grows mostly solitary. It has a depressed cylindrical globular stem with short buds up to 19 centimeters long and have a diameter of 5 to 12 centimeters. Its roots are fibrous. It has eleven to 20 ribs slightly wavy. The areolas have central dark brown to blackish spines, which may be absent, with a length of up to 3.2 cm. The eight to 31 spines are straight or slightly curved, thorns 1.8 cm long. The flowers with funnel-shaped cuttings and pink. They appear well below the tips of the shoots and are 3-10 cm long and reach 4-7 cm in diameter. The egg-shaped fruits are 2 cm long
