Pencil cholla (Cylindropuntia tesajo)
Description
Cylindropuntia tesajo is a species in the genus Cylindropuntia in the family of cactus (Cactaceae). A Spanish trivial name is "Tesajo Cylindropuntia tesajo grows as a lower and spreading, up to short, upright, often dichotomous or trichotom branching shrub and reaches stature heights from 20 to 80 centimeters. On the light green to brownish green, to the areoles a little purple-colored, bare to papillaten, very slender, 3 to 11.5 centimeters long and 0.5 to 1.2 centimeters in diameter measuring drive sections are low inconspicuous humps.
