Coryphantha compacta is a species in the genus Coryphantha from the family of cactus (Cactaceae). The specific epithet compacta comes from the Latin meaning, solid, squat 'and describes the spines of the art. Coryphantha compacta grows mostly solitary with spherical light green to dark green shoots which reach diameters of 5 to 9 centimeters growth heights of 2 to 6 centimeters.
