Description
The field wallflower ( Matthiola fruticulosa ) is a perennial herb that grows in dry and rocky sites of the Mediterranean basin except in Corsica and Sardinia It is a perennial, herbaceous subleñosa at the base, with stems of between 10 and 60 cm high covered with dense white hair. The leaves are alternate, oblong to linear, gray-green in color. It flowers between early spring and mid- summer forming inflorescences of yellow flowers to purple, pedicelled, with four petals arranged in cross of up to 3 cm and sepals up to 15 mm.
