Dwarf butterfly agave (Agave isthmensis)
Description
Agave isthmensis forms small, compact rosettes with a stature height of 17 to 32 cm and a diameter of 25 to 36 cm. It forms abundant rhizomatous offshoots. The broad, roughened gray to bluish leaves are 8 to 10 cm long, 5 to 8 cm wide and narrowed to the base. The leaf margins are deeply notched. The strong, brown to reddish edge teeth are variably arranged. The brown to reddish end thorn is 1 to 1.5 cm long.
