Double Coconut (Lodoicea maldivica)
Description
The peculiarity of the Seychelles coconut is to have an amazing resemblance to the anatomy of a woman's pelvis. This association with feminine features is reflected in one of the botanical name of the plant archaic, Lodoicea callypige Comm. Ex J. St.-Hil. Other names previously used are Lodoicea sechellarum Labill. and Lodoicea sonneratii Baill.
