Chamaedorea radicalis (Chamaedorea radicalis)
Description
It is a slow-growing palm that grows up to 1.2 meters high. Appearance can remind you a lot about the popular Kentia palms that many have as a houseplants. It grows naturally in almost rainforest conditions with constant moist and cool air. It dislikes full sun and must be planted in shade, alternatively partial shadow. Despite the fact that the palm tree comes from the tropics , on the border with the subtropes , it fits in a temperate climate with mild winters, and it is said that the palms can withstand short-term temperatures down to -12 degrees Celsius. The palm tree has feather-shaped leaves and an old individual may have a short little stem consisting of old leaf residues. It is not uncommon for a small individual to flourish, and the female palm gets beautiful red berries, which is a great contrast to the fresh foliage.
