Description
It has�one�height�of�1�,�5�to�3�m�,�although�in�Mexico�may�reach�up�to�the�6�meters�,�monocaule�of�up to�8�cm�inthickness�,�with�spines�of�up to�6�cm�in�length�grouped�on�disks�.�The�prophiles�(�young�leaves�)�are�simple�,�thegnom�filos�(�mature�leaves�),�are�pinnades�of�up to�1�,�6�m�with�from�15�to�35�pairs�of�pinnas�of�40�-�100�cm�in�length.�The�inflorescences�of�15�-�30�cm�of�length�,�spinous�,�with�flowers�female�on�the�basis�,�and�flowers� male�you egrupadas�at�the�apex�,�Espata�very�prickly�,�fruits�globose�of�4�cm�in�length�,�brown�and�thorny�,�the�endosperm�isedible�.�The�seeds�take�2�months�to�germinate�.
