Vincetoxicum (Vincetoxicum)
Description
Vincetoxicum is a genus of plant in family Apocynaceae. Although the species in Vincetoxicum have sometimes been included in Cynanchum, chemical and molecular evidence shows that Vincetoxicum is more closely related to Tylophora. They are bushes , erect herbs or, rarely, herbaceous vines , they reach 40-100 (-200) cm high, little ramified, the latex color; the present rhizomes, which consist of fine subterranean organs, fasciculated roots. The leaves are subsessile or petiolate; herbaceous paper, 5-10 cm long, 2.8 cm wide, ovate, obtuse basally, rounded or slightly cordate, the apex acute to acuminate, marginally ciliate, adaxial glabrous or sparsely puberulous in the veins, abaxially glabrous or puberulous, pubescent or velvety mainly in the veins. The inflorescences are extra-axillary, sometimes in pairs, usually shorter than the adjacent leaves, with 5-20 flowers, laxas, the peduncles almost as long as the pedicels, both glabrous and pubescent. The flowers are nectariferous
