Copper zephyrlily (Habranthus longifolius)
Description
It is a small delicate herbaceous plant measuring little more than 20 cm in height. The small, upright, long, very narrow leaves are up to 22.5 cm long. It is common for them to be absent at the time of flowering The flower appears isolated at the top of a flower stem. Yellow in color, it has a funnel shape. It measures 2 to 2.5 cm in length 1 . It is composed of 6 pieces of petaloids formed by calyx and corolla , yellow but with a coppery hue at the base outside. The reproductive organs are composed of three stamens and one ovary with three carpels . The fruit is a quasi-spherical trilocular capsule about 2 cm in diameter 1 . The seeds are black, flattened, D-shaped.
