Agapanthus praecox orientalis (Agapanthus praecox orientalis)
Description
Moderately fast-growing, clumping evergreen perennial to 24-28” tall and wide. Agapanthus have long been admired for their tough nature and dazzling, dependable floral display. This vigorous, long-blooming variety forms a clumping mound of broad, arching, strap-like medium-green leaves that make an outstanding texture contrast to broad-leafed shrubs and perennials. Often referred to as looking like a firework display, abundant, ball-shaped clusters of funnel-shaped light-blue flowers appear atop 30-36” tall stems throughout the warmer months of the year, attracting butterflies and bees. Remove old flower spikes as they expire to promote re-blooming.
