Saurauia is a genus of flowering plants in the family of the Strahlstift family (Actinidiaceae). The species of this genus grow as a shrub or tree . The leaves are opposite and hairy. The inflorescence is an axillary or almost terminal thyrus . The species are dioecious getrenntgeschlechtig ( dioecious ). The usually five, otherwise between three and eight sepals are scaly. The usually five, otherwise between three and nine petals are white. The fleshy berry contains numerous seeds in its slimy, clear pulp.
